Panchito Films
Panchito Films was created in 2007 with the intention to produce contents from Chile for an international audience. The premise is to investigate the ordinary human being, exploring the abyss that separates whats we are from what we think we are.
In 2009 we premiered in the IDFA competition “The Power of Speech”, by Francisco Hervé, which obtained numerous awards such as the Altazor and the Pedro Sienna. In 2011 we released “Daughter”, by María Paz González, awarded as Best Film at FIDOCS, among other recognitions. In 2014 we premiered “Beaverland”, by Antonio Luco and Nico Molina, at Sheffield Doc / Fest. The film has been awarded at FIC Valdivia as the Best Chilean Feature Film and at multiple other festivals. In 2016 we premiered “The Lost City” by Francisco Hervé, at the international Visions du Reel competition, in Nyon, Switzerland. In 2018 we released “The Invented Biography”, by Nicolás Lasnibat and later in 2020 “The Other One”, by Francisco Bermejo, an award-winning film at the Visions du Réel Festival in the Burning Lights category.
