Caucaso was founded in Bologna in 2004, from the convergence of academic research and artistic production, with a particular focus on documentary cinema. The cooperative's production platform is positioned between the filmic sphere, the television and radio market, the commercialization of artistic works and installations, and photography. Its vocation is to combine interest in issues of civic engagement with the popularising needs of the audiovisual sector. Caucaso collaborates regularly with research centres and universities, such as Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna, University of Turin, Turin Polytechnic, Iuav. Throughout the years the cooperative produced works with the support of entities such as the Ministry of Culture, Rai Cinema, Luce Cinecittà, RSI - Radiotelevisione Svizzera, Film Commission Emilia Romagna, Film Commission Torino Piemonte, Film Commission Sardegna, Veneto Film Commission, Calabria Film Commission, MAXXI, MART - Museo di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto. Caucaso distributes his films in cinemas, Italian and European television stations, and in major international film festivals such as Venice Film Festival, CPH:DOX, Cinéma du Réel, Sheffield Doc/Fest, Doc Lisboa, Torino Film Festival, Mostra del Nuovo Cinema di Pesaro, Festival dei Popoli. The authors of Caucaso are working with the radio broadcasters Radio Città Fujiko and Rai Radio 3.
