Lenfilm is a one-stop shop for film producing in Russia. Established in 1914, it is the oldest film production company in Russia providing a full range of services for film and television production.
More than 1500 films were produced here including Soviet golden classics — Chapaev, famous Shakespeare adaptations including Gamlet, legendary Cinderella (Zolushka), as well as documentaries, shorts, animation films. Lenfilm was awarded more than 200 prizes at the most prestigious international film festivals, including Cannes, Berlin, Locarno and Venice.
The Studios have recently undergone a phase of reconstruction and modernization. Among the prominent film stars who acted here are Elizabeth Taylor, Jane Fonda, Sandrine Bonnair, Michele Placido, Maximilian Shell. Young Catherine, featuring Julia Ormond and Vanessa Redgrave, Orlando featuring Tilda Swinton, Sophia Marceau as Anna Karenina and many more movies were shot here.
