Created in 2000 in Belgium by Isabelle Truc, Iota Production has produced around fifty documentary films. Among its recent works, MA’OHI NUI, AU COEUR DE L’OCÉAN MON PAYS by Annick Ghijzelings was selected for the Berlinale in 2018 (NATIVe). OVERSEAS, by Sung-A Yoon, was screened at Locarno Film Festival 2019 (Cineasti del presente) for its world premiere and then continued its tour in numerous festivals (BFI London, Message to Man, Busan, IDFA,…). MON NOM EST CLITORIS by Daphné Leblond and Lisa Billuart Monnet, Best Documentary Magritte 2020, was selected at DOK Leipzig 2019, FIFF Namur and at Festival Ethnologique Jean Rouch. Four documentaries are currently in production and five more are in development.
On the fictional features side, Guillaume Senez’s second feature film NOS BATAILLES was
selected by the Critics’ Week at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and nominated for the 2019 Césars in the categories Best foreign film and Best actor. KEEPER, Guillaume Senez’s first feature, was selected in more than 70 festivals and has received around twenty awards. WELCOME HOME by Philippe de Pierpont was selected at FIFF Namur in international competition receiving the special mention as Jury’s favorite, and INSOUMISE by Jawad Rhalib, Jury Prize at Marrakech Film Festival, was selected in 25 festivals around the world. These films have been sold in many territories.
We have several fictional feature films in development: C’EST DE FAMILLE by Élodie Lélu, VANCOUVER by Vanja d’Alcantara, LA VERRIÈRE by Sung-A Yoon, A L’ÉQUILIBRE by Thomas van Zuylen, BORDER GAMES by Elena Mikaberidze, AU BORD DU MONDE by Amelia Nanni and LES SQUALES by Cécile Rittweger and Laurent Michelet.
On the animation side, in 2014, we participated in the production of Tomm Moore’s second animated feature LE CHANT DE LA MER, nominated for the Oscars and Césars and prize for the Best European Animated Film in 2015. We are furthermore co-producing CHERCHEZ LA FEMME, a 30 x 3 min animated series directed by Julie Gavras and LA BRIGADE DU TITRE, produced by Les Films du Bilboquet and Zadig. And we also remain open to new co-production animation projects.
Co-production is also part of the activity. The feature film OLEG by Juris Kursietis produced by Tasse Film in Latvia was selected by the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and won the Grand Prix in national competition at the Brussels International Film Festival 2019 (BRIFF). In addition, we are finishing the post-production of the feature film TAILOR by Sonia Liza Kenterman, produced by Argonauts in Greece, Iota Production, Elemag Pictures and Made in Germany.
